Jakub Hawryluk

Untitled Document

Jakub Hawryluk was born on the second November 1985 in Dresden. He has finished his exam in the year 2005 and went after this to the civil service for 9 months as a rescue medic. In October 2006 he will start his studies as an electrical engineer. He lives and trains in Germany in a town called Rheinböllen.

He entered the DLRG Rheinböllen 1995 in an age of 9 years. In the town Simmern he went besides also to the training. In November 1997 he started the first time with his team in the German championships in Lifesaving (19 place). Since that he started regularly in the GCiL. But in the year 2001 he won his first individual nation championship in Rheinland-Pfalz (Landesmeister) and won this competition during the next 5 following years. At this time his career in rescue sport went up. He was taken to the national cadre 2001 (Landeskader Rheinland-Pfalz), which made him possible to start also in international competition. Also his individual sporty results in the GCiL were better from year to year. In 2001 he took part to his first International competition, the German Cup. A year later he started the first time in the European junior championship in Lifesaving in Bourgas (Bulgaria). Because he represented the Polish Nation in such an event, he opened the interest of the WOPR-organisation. After this WOPR send every year young swimmers to this competition. He started on the Nivea Cup 2002 and it was his first Open Water competition. His speciality in this is Ski Race, Board Race and Iron-man. In CY 2003 he participated in the Polish Championship and ended it with the 9th place in an open age league. Also here he confirmed himself, what in fact led that he is in the Polish Championships an important component, which can not be excluded. His results were in the year 2004 so good that he convinced the German Federation-trainer to take him to the C-cadre. Unfortunately he was fired there for unfathomably reasons a half year later. It was not the first time that this Organisation amounted and lay. Therefore he has extracted her trusts. He was more pleasing for, when the WOPR recognize his possibility. Now he starts only for the Polish National Team in international events. He is also happy, that he could deepen the contacts and open new relationships in Poland, when he was in CY 2005 about 4 months in Warsaw. Now he has there a lot of friends and is glad to be gotten used to Mateusz Kwaśniewski, Krzysztof Piotrowski and Agnieszka Marianek. Jakub is now preparing for the GCiL 2006 in Wuppertal, 17teen German Cup in Warendorf and EC 2007.
His opinion about the sport activity of lifesaving is very special: “We like our sport and it’s the right way! Why? It’s the only one of the whole world, in which the sportsman is not training for himself but also for other people, who can’t swim. I’m proud to realize my social contribution and not to be ignorant.”
